APPROACH
In Susan's experience and studies, she has learned that drawing from a few different theoretical orientations has been the best way to assist clients in their growth and success. Her approach to the therapeutic process is integrative and person-centered. This includes a combination of humanistic-existential principles with specific cognitive behavioral interventions. Over the years this method has shown to be the most effective and rewarding for clients in therapy. Susan believes that with all of the theories and integrative tools that may be used, it always comes back to the client, what they need, and what is most useful and appropriate for them in treatment.
MODALITY
There are many modes of therapy out there (individual, group, couples, family therapy etc.) Susan's practice focuses on individual work with clients, as she has found that this has proven to be one of the best ways to encourage personal growth and change. Susan understands that it can be a challenging process to work towards self-actualization, and because of that she feels that using an individual therapy model has proven to be one of the most effective ways to create individualized progress.
